D.Monets Organics was born from a desire to do something different for textured hair.

I started this journey after realizing how heavily the Black hair care industry relied on formulas containing ingredients that could be harsh on the hair and scalp, ingredients primarily included for preservation and extended shelf life, or ingredients that simply weren’t serving the long-term health of textured hair.

I wanted to understand why.

With a degree in Biology, I began researching ingredients extensively — learning what they were, why they were being used, how they interacted with the hair and scalp, and what could be used in their place. I wanted to create products that weren't simply marketed as “natural,” but were thoughtfully formulated with high-quality, premium, cosmetically safe ingredients selected with the health and needs of textured hair in mind.

I wanted to create products that could help support what we all want from our hair care routine: moisture, softness, strength, manageability, and healthy-looking hair.

In 2019, that research and passion became something tangible.

I began formulating in my college dorm room, starting with one of my earliest creations: flaxseed gel. What began as a small experiment quickly became a passion for formulation and botanical hair care. I became fascinated by the process of taking ingredients from nature and thoughtfully transforming them into products designed with a purpose.

Growing With Intention

As D.Monets Organics grew, so did the vision.

Our Classic Collection became the foundation of the brand — a collection of staple products that represent where it all began.

Then came our Hibiscus Collection, which became our signature collection. Inspired by the botanical world and the many ways plants can be incorporated into hair care, hibiscus helped define the identity of D.Monets Organics and our commitment to botanical-focused formulations.

Over time, our vision expanded beyond hair care.

D.Monets Organics grew to include cold-processed soaps, body butters, soy wax melts, candles, and other self-care products, allowing us to create products that encourage intentional care from head to toe.

But as we continued learning about textured hair, one thing became increasingly clear:

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to hair care.

That realization led us to our newest chapter.

Instead of creating one universal hair care routine and expecting every head of hair to respond the same way, we began developing products with hair porosity in mind.

Today, D.Monets Organics offers two specialized hair care systems:

The High Porosity Hair Care System
Developed with the characteristics and needs of high-porosity hair at the forefront.
